Henri Bendel
New York

For a new house ware department at Bendel's original flagship store on 57th Street in Manhattan, Rosenberg Kolb opened up an existing balcony to provide an enticing transition between the boulevard of accessories boutiques downstairs, and the main floor of clothing above. The space features a mostly neutral palette that lets the house wares be the focus of attention, but with lavish details such as a black and whitewashed parquet floor, purple silk backdrops, and a pewter leaf ceiling. Design elements such as ball finials are repeated in different pieces to provide a coherent design. The overall effect is as stylish as the goods on display.
