ino Cosma Store
700 Fifth Avenue
New York, NY

Tino Cosma, an Italian neckwear manufacturer, opened his first store in America on Fifth Avenue in the Peninsula Hotel. Deviations from existing facade standards required special approval. RKA worked actively with the Landmarks Commission to secure approval and keep construction on time. Since signage was only allowed to protrude 1/4" in front of the glass, RKA created a strong, more dimensional sign by extending the letters 6" back into the space.

The architects designed a bold visually striking construction barricade: an over-scale, brightly painted sheet metal tie flapping in the breeze, poised on a plywood barricade, painted as faux limestone to match the building facade.
