ZuZu's Coffee Bar
Hartford, Connecticut

In this former Arts and Crafts style space in Hartford, Rosenberg Kolb designed an eclectic mix of custom finishes and fixtures including a new oak bar, counters, and lighting, creating a space that would be a warm coffee bar by day and cocktail bar at night.

The visual focus of the two-story space is the new curvilinear bar. The front wraps around existing columns in a sensuous curve. At the back bar tambour doors conceal liquor displays and cocktail bar equipment during the day. At night they open to change the menu as well as the ambiance.

The furnishings mix stock restaurant seating and tables with funky antiques and details that create a lively interior.

Graphic Design

The interior designs for the coffee bars at Seattle, ZuZu's, and Basset Book Shop were for start-up companies. The architects also provided complete graphic and signage identities to include close up logos, cards, letterhead, firm profile, menus, brochures, posters, tee shirts, cups matches, and menu boards.

The bold contemporary designs portray the image of the companies that will be used successively in future stores.
